HI and the ILO join forces for an e-learning course on inclusive TVET

Humanity & Inclusion, the International Labour Organization's Employment Department (Skills and Employability Branch) and the ILO's International Training Centre are organizing an online training on skills development for social inclusion in 2021.

It will take place from the 1st February to 26th March, 2021 (in English and French).

The objective: to provide practical guidance for assessing and building inclusive TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and skills development systems catered to a range of vulnerable groups and individuals or at risk of being excluded from those services, such as women, persons with disabilities, people living in rural areas, migrant workers, and people working in the informal sector.

 

This training is designed for:

  • Policy-makers and technical advisors of ministries of employment/labour and education;
  • Members of skills councils, national TVET authorities and similar institutions;
  • Representatives of workers’ and employers’ organizations involved in skills development;
  • Experts and technical staff working in the field of TVET planning and in CSOs and NGOs working with vulnerable groups;
  • Specialized institutions from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors that are working on gender issues, informality and the integration of persons with disabilities.

The following topics will be addressed:

  • Inclusive TVET policies and strategies, following a rights-based approach
  • Universal TVET system design from access to participation, graduation and transition to work
  • Inclusive learning methodologies
  • Framework for analysis of inequalities in TVET
  • Targeted measures to redress inequalities

This training follows a first edition in 2020, the results of which were promising since nearly 60 participants from more than 15 countries (Albania, Belgium, Italy, USA, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Germany, Ghana, Uganda, Mozambique, Jordan, Malaysia, Kenya, Pakistan...) participated in the various online training modules.
